PR Intern

What we’re seeking

We’re looking for an intern who wants to gain hands-on experience in B2B media relations and communications for the advertising, marketing, media and tech industries in a rewarding agency environment. This role is so much more than mere observation; you’ll be actively involved in client accounts by supporting client work and day-to-day processes, all while developing a solid understanding of the marketing and advertising industries and how PR operates as a supporting force.  Above all, this internship is an opportunity to learn by doing—enabling you to build a strong foundation in PR, client relations and media strategy within a fast-moving global PR agency.

Note that we provide an internal three-month training plan to ensure that you get a solid sense of what day-to-day life is like working at a PR agency.

About us

Our clients in the media, advertising and tech sectors include Design Bridge and Partners, Songtradr, Gather and Croud. While Propeller PR’s UK-arm was founded over 20 years ago, we created Propeller U.S. in late 2021 to expand our offerings for global clients, offering full-service B2B PR, content and business development solutions to leading companies and agencies. We shape and share compelling content with the decision makers who are important to our clients.

Description

What do we do?
Whether our clients are U.S.-based or global, seeking to build a profile from scratch or enhance an existing one, we help them reach key decision makers in their space by securing opportunities in the publications and industry events which matter most to their target audiences.

How do we do it? By executing proactive media engagements that go far beyond news generation, each strategically designed to shift the conversation forward and define industry standards at the same time. Working closely with client teams, we create and elevate thought leaders by identifying concepts and ideas which not only set their businesses apart, but also matter to them as professionals—and then we help champion them to the world.

You should have

  • Excellent face-to-face, telephone and email communications skills—all of which are essential.
  • Strong writing skills—You don’t need a background in PR, but you should have a solid understanding of both narrative and sentence structures, as well as communicating ideas effectively.
  • Curiosity and awareness—The ability to actively listen, absorb new information and ask thoughtful questions.
  • Interest in advertising and culture—Whether it’s around branding, media, design or strategy—or the way they intersect.

Your responsibilities and duties will include

You will support a set client caseload of 3 clients which will ensure you get a full sense of what it’s like to be an Account Executive inside a boutique agency.
