At Advertising Week New York this October, our returning ‘Industry Journalists Tell All’ panel will look beyond the usual advice about subject lines and pitching etiquette. Instead, it will examine the ideas themselves: what makes a perspective worth publishing, why so much industry commentary begins to sound the same and how brands can contribute something meaningful without slipping into product promotion.
Joining that conversation will be Ryan Joe, Editor-in-Chief at Adweek and the first confirmed panellist for this year’s session.
Ryan has spent more than a decade covering data-driven marketing and advertising, making some of the industry’s most complicated developments accessible to a wider audience.
He began his career as a reporter at DMNews before moving to AdExchanger, where he spent nearly eight years and became Managing Editor. In 2021, he joined Business Insider to help lead its scoop-driven advertising coverage. Today, he leads the editorial team at Adweek.
In conversation with Propeller’s Head of U.S, Mary Cirincione, Ryan will share what makes a story stand out, which perspectives are most likely to earn editorial attention and where brands can add real value to the conversations shaping advertising and marketing.
