* The first result is an interview on developmag.com from just under a year ago following on from Gosen keynote speech at UK Gamesfest at which he set out Microsoft’s European investment plans.
* Next comes the news of Gosen’s appointment at Microsoft in March 2008, as reported by the gaming news site Gamasutra.
* Third comes a profile of Gosen on gaming forum Spong.com
* The fourth and fifth results refer to Gosen’s time at I-Play. These are comments on the BBC website, from July 2005, in which he discusses the future of gaming and comments to Digital Media Wire in 2007 after online gaming company Oberon Media had acquired I-Play.
VERDICT
Gosen’s Google profile provides a clear picture of his varied and successful career although it is a shame that there are no results from within the past six months. The only source of his most recent activity comes from Spong.com where his profile also includes a ‘related news’ section. The comments in this section, however, are the author’s own perspective and not always favourable.
ACTION
Gosen appears to be a frequent public speaker and a simple solution would be to set up a personal website featuring his presentations. The Xbox PR team should also be working with event organisers and their web teams to ensure references to Gosen’s participation gets appropriate online exposure.
